Dehydration often occurs during and after physical exertion (sports) in high temperatures. Excessive sweating, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, burns or the use of certain medicines can also lead to dehydration symptoms. Be alert and always have O.R.S. within reach. A combination of the right amount of salts and glucose increases the absorption of water during physical exertion or when the fluid balance in your body is out of balance. This glucose salt preparation has a pomegranate/orange flavour and is suitable for all ages. Formulation in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Directions for use:
Dosage for adults and children over 20kg: Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 200ml of reliable drinking water (do not use with other liquids/drinks).
Dosage for children under 20kg: Dissolve 1 sachet in 200ml of reliable drinking water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved. Use 10 ml per kilo body weight as a standard and administer every hour for 4 to 6 hours. For infants, we recommend one teaspoon of O.R.S. solution every 2-4 minutes. The solution can be given with a spoon or from a (sterilised) bottle. It is preferable to give the O.R.S. solution before bottle or breastfeeding, as it will make it easier to drink. Thereafter, feed as usual. Even if you need less solution, you should still dissolve 1 sachet in 200 ml of water. Then use the correct amount and discard the remaining solution or store according to the storage instructions.
