The RMR Type 2 is designed with a patented housing shape that absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens to increase durability. Recently I bought a Trijicon RMR through Contact Front.
Contact Front consulted me on which type to choose , being that there are several models.
I chose the RMR type 06 with a 3.25MOA dot (adjustments @ 100 yards 1 click = 1 MOA)
The RMR was delivered in a nice polymer box with manual, cleaning cloth, warranty papers & adjustment tools + a CR2032 battery
Delivery time was ok, seeing the product had to be imported from the US.

Mounting:
I mounted the RMR on my Glock 17 Gen5 MOS with the OEM Glock NR2 baseplate and a Trijicon sealing plate (also available from Contact Front).
The sealing plate matches the footprint of your RMR exactly with cutouts for indexing pins so even if your RMR is wider than your slide or mounting bracket the sealing plate will create a waterproof seal against the gasket of your RMR.

Once it was mounted a quick zeroing took place. The controls on the RMR are easy to dial in with a Leatherman, but a small screwdriver makes life much easier. It is pretty simple to see the dot as you twist the screw and observe its movement.

Rangetime:
The first few times, I found, were tricky. I am used to iron sights and out of instinct I was looking for the iron sights. Your lign of sight is slightly higher. This threw me off several times. Not an optic issue, a training issue. What was an optic issue, was finding the small 3.5MOA dot. When it comes to close range speed shooting , setting the RMR on a high brightness does help acquiring the dot faster.

At further distances 20-25 meters you start to see how much an improvement the dot is over iron sights. The small 3.25MOA dot makes seeing and hitting the target at this extended range much easier, and faster, and follow up shots were faster and nicely grouped.

Conclusion:
The Trijicon RMR is a solid optic which has been proven over the years now.
The only drawbacks that I can think of are battery life +- 1 year and the cost price.
